Director of e-Commerce

Job Summary

Smart Destinations is looking for a smart and experienced Director of e-Commerce who can maximize the value of our web properties. This will include working closely with the marketing team to monetize traffic, successfully using data to manage the site to maximize conversion, and utilizing concepts and strategies to improve overall customer experience.

Responsibilities

The Director of e-Commerce will have day-to-day responsibility for managing and optimizing our most important sales channel. Work with design, engineering, and outside services to help create a persuasive online experience to raise conversion rates at our web properties. Responsibilities in support of this:

  • Run the presentation and "merchandising" of our site to maximize the financial contribution from our web presence through sales conversion and ancillary revenues
  • Prioritize and manage the ongoing development of our web presence
  • Manage a team of web developers and web designers as part of the website design process
  • Survey our current and potential customer base to develop customer personas
  • Effectively track the performance of all online testing through detailed actionable reports
  • Work with marketing team, management team, peer groups, survey data and analytics to refine product messaging and features
  • Refine copy and graphics to better convey benefits and features of our products
  • Implementation of core site functionalities and content offerings that maximize revenue and improve customer satisfaction
  • Manage outside vendors as needed

Experience

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 7+ years of marketing/usability or Web product management experience with a minimum three years hands-on experience in online business to consumer merchandising or marketing
  • Specific experience with online customer experience

Marketing Communications Manager

Job Summary

Smart Destinations is looking for a bright, energized Marketing Communications Manager that can drive greater awareness of our category, company, and products. The primary responsibility will be public relations outreach to offline and online media with an emphasis on business to consumer media. A secondary responsibility will be around monitoring and helping to position Smart Destinations within the social media sphere. And finally, there is a component of B2B media relations targeting travel industry facing media. This position plays an integral role in the development and growth of the Company.

Responsibilities

The Marketing Communications Manager will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Organize and execute a proactive, ongoing B2C media outreach program that will drive trial of our product by relevant media outlets. This includes traditional media as well as non-traditional media such as bloggers.
  • Be able to deliver on targeted B2C media pushes around specific events, product launches and updates, etc. in an ad hoc manner
  • Manage an effective social media monitoring effort with a corresponding capability to respond if and where appropriate and necessary. Key here will be to handle in such a way that this program is manageable and doesn’t overwhelm the role.
  • Provide support around the planning and delivery of targeted B2B media pushes in conjunctions with industry events and new product and feature launches

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of Markeing Communications/Public Relations experience, either in-house or with a MarCom/PR firm
  • Ability to manage and execute long term and ad hoc efforts simultaneously
  • Willingness to run programs with an ROI mentality
  • Comfort with social media and an understanding of the primary rules of the space
  • Strong writing skills a plus
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • May be occasional travel for trade shows and training
